Summary/Abstract: This text examines Arendt’s theory of public sphere and its relation with the theory of totalitarianism. We argue that Arendt’s theory of totalitarianism requires a theory of the public sphere that will be later developed in The Human Condition. We discuss her analysis of the constitution of public sphere in context of the phenomenological accounts of the intersubjectivity (Husserl and Heidegger).
