Summary/Abstract: The present paper has as aim to emphasize a few aspects concerning the Athenian democracy during the age of Pericles. Having as starting point the reforms of Clistenes, which divided the Athenian population not by birth criteria, but on territorial one, Pericles instituted a „modern” democracy which granted social stability and the normal development of its institutions. The age of Pericles was a pinnacle of Greek democracy and constituted for centuries a paradigm of leadership and state organization.
