Summary/Abstract: This study attempts to analyze the extent to which the professionals’ responsibilities have changed in the information society, how the concept of professionalism is perceived nowadays and how this concept is applied both in the info-documentary institutions and in the information sciences. The impact of information and information technology has always been considered as a source of new and significant concerns on the one hand, and of new dilemmas for the professionals, on the other. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze the relation between the „professional” and „managerial” perspectives and the redefinition of professionalism in the information society.
