Summary/Abstract: This paper addresses the social functions of media and other communication channels that we observe in contemporary public debate in the era of, so-called, post-truth. The changes that have occurred in the sphere of global and interpersonal communication in the last 15 years due to technological changes are discussed. The author refers to the concept of epistemic communities, comparing them to contemporary concepts of „information bubbles.
