Summary/Abstract: This article explores the topic of Islam and Muslims in the Polish mass communi-cation space—both traditional and social media. It summarizes the research pro-cess conducted by the Institute for Discourse and Dialogue as part of the two-year project“EMPATHY. Let’s Empower, Participate, and Teach Each Other to Hype Empathy. Chal-lenging discourse about Islam and Muslims in Poland.” Its aim is to demonstrate the practicesof journalists and other users of the mass communication space that exhibit signsof Islamophobia or, on the other hand, good practices in describing the Muslim com-munity in Poland or Arab culture in general. The accompanying graphs present the re-sults of research conducted by a team of volunteers and experts from the INDID Founda-tion. They indicate the deep-rooted stereotypical thinking about these phenomena andsocial groups, which can lead to the development of false attitudes towards them in Polishsociety.
