Summary/Abstract: Teaching the terminology of clinical procedures in medical English classes can be a challenge. However, by using video, which is an excellent tool for showing language in operation, medical students are more likely to understand, learn and be able to use words and phrases pertaining to this overspecialized terminology. The present paper gives examples of home-grown exercises for watching purposes that can be used in the course room, with a special focus on the language skills developed by each video-based teaching material.
