Summary/Abstract: This article focuses on a trap of medical translation, namely false friends. The study forwards a list of examples of negative semantic transfer from English medical terms to their Romanian false friends. Some of the surveyed terms are very frequent, while others are entering the Romanian medical language. The pairs of false friends are discussed with examples of medical texts and the correct Romanian equivalents are given.
