Summary/Abstract: The security environment in the vicinity of the European Union is different from the internal one, not only in Europe, but also around it. The main instrument for promoting stability is the further development of neighbourhood policies, which offer concrete benefits and relationships with neighbouring states in many aspects, particularly regarding the access to markets and the promotion of investments.
