Summary/Abstract: Project teams can definitely be considered as one of the key elements of any project’s success. In view of the modern business conditions and the characteristics of the age in which we live, in recent time, apart from traditional teams, virtual and hybrid teams are becoming increasingly important. This is why the education system and study programmes geared at developing project competencies in particular, should by all means take this fact into account when designing and implementing curricula. For the purposes of this paper researh has been conducted, the main aim of which was to establish how specific forms of teamwork (traditional, virtual, hybrid) may contribute to the development of behavioural project competencies, but also to what extent each of them is suited to performing technical tasks (resulting from technical project competencies). The research was conducted in the Republic of Croatia on a sample of graduate students of Project Management (specialist professional programme) at the University of Applied Sciences Baltazar Zaprešić and undergraduate students of Digital Marketing at Algebra University College. The results of research should serve as the basis for further development of the said study programmes, but also be a guideline to other programmes that are directly or indirectly related to the area of project management.
