Summary/Abstract: This article presents the results of an associative experiment in which 128 Polish students from Podlaskie Province took part. As a result of this study, 643 Polish language free-verbal responses to the stimuli included in the survey (Russians, Ukrainians, Belarusians) were collected. It was assumed that the ideas functioning in the consciousness of Poles about the representatives of other culture Poland’s eastern neighbours and expressed through language, can be interpreted as a premise for communication between them both in the private and professional field.
