Summary/Abstract: This article aims to highlight the political, diplomatic, and legal significance of proclaiming the year 2021 as the International Year of Peace and Trust. It provides an analysis of the resolution of the United Nations General Assembly on this matter, and it emphasizes the role of the Security Council in promoting peace as the highest value of humanity. The paper also notes the contributions of certain international organizations, such as ASEAN, in promoting peace and strengthening trust among nations. It also presents the negative impact of covid-19 on international cooperation.
