Summary/Abstract: This article is an analysis of two methods for the teaching of languages for specific purposes: Tourism, published by OUP (from the “Oxford English for Careers” series), and Bienvenidos: Español para profesionales de Turismo y hostelería, published by EnClave ELE. After considering the structure, contents and exercises for learning vocabulary in both methods, a typology of lexical exercises is established: lists, matching exercises, semantic groups and visual exercises. According to these two specific methods, some notes on the similarities or divergences in the teaching of the language of tourism in Spanish and English languages are also indicated.
