Summary/Abstract: In this paper, we want to briefly present the phenomenon of the literary influence of the choice of the original(s) by analyzing and comparing selected passages of some Slovak translations of Psalm 91. Our analysis shows that in translation, the purposes and the denominational environment of their creation had the main influence. In addition to the presented analysis, the article offers a professional presentation and processing of an excerpt from an unpublished translation of Psalter by Ján Švec-Slavkovian.
