Summary/Abstract: Bishop Robert Barron's essays, imbued with apologetic rhetoric, make an interesting example of a contemporary defence of Christianity. The American hierarch, recognising the current context of faith, offers a competent and interesting defence of Christianity and Catholicism. In this article, the author analyses Barron's apologia present in his essays, beginning with the sources to which the hierarch refers and showing their topicality. Then he explores the two most important apologetic themes: the defence of Christianity against the new atheism and the defence of the Church. The paper concludes with an evaluation of the American bishop's apologia.
