Summary/Abstract: The Confession of Saint Patrick introduces us to the spirituality and the teaching of this Irish saint. This writing also gives us certain data which could be relevant for the reconstruction of his life and mission, as well as of early history of Christianity in Ireland. But, on the other hand, in his autobiography, St Patrick expresses himself very concisely, and also not systematically in a historiographical sense, so numerous problems and uncertainties concerning his life and contribution remain still open and unsolved.
