Summary/Abstract: At the beginning of this work the author presents the hypothesis that Muhammad Iqbal was the commentator of the Qur’an in a special, nontraditional way. Before proceeding to prove that hypothesis the paper briefly elaborates Ikbal’s attitude towards the Qur’an and presents some Iqbal’s views about the Qur’an. In the central part of the paper there are some citations from Iqbal’s poetry and prose that prove this hypothesis. Finally, the author presents his concluding thoughts.
