Summary/Abstract: This article is dedicated to the memory of the renowned epigraphist and archaeologist Maria Barbulescu. In an increasingly "pragmatic" world, Maria remained a well-defined character, with principles inherited from her family and she knew how to impose herself with dignity and with a special kindness to those she came in contact with. She was always ready to help and share her knowledge and experiences to form young students, giving them the necessary benchmarks to complete themselves through work, after graduation.
