Summary/Abstract: This text presents some main problems connected to the work of translations of basic Christian terminology into main languages in the Philippines. They have arisen during the work of the first translations. The oldest translations were made for the catechisms. That was the first step to present Catholic beliefs in local languages, especially tagalong called now filipino. When the “protestant” United States took over Philippines there was more attempts for the Biblical translations, which required new attempts for the development of Christian terminology. Finally, the last step, up to now, came with the liturgical renewal after the Second Vatican Council in the Catholic Church. Every stage was related with new problems, both linguistic, as well as theological.
