The Tendencies of Research on Music Pedagogy in Lithuania in 1995–2008: the Theoretical-Survey Aspect

Summary/Abstract: The article deals with research on music pedagogy published in scientific reviewed journals during the period of 1995–2008. 186 publications on the area of music pedagogy found in scientific journals “Acta Paedagogica Vilnensia”, “Pedagogika”, “Tiltai” and “Kūrybos erdvės” were analysed. The survey reveals that relevance of research in the area of music education arises in certain waves. It is observed that three periods of upsurge when the question on how the changes in the system of music education could be evaluated arises more often. During the latter years, the amount of research on music pedagogy increases and this scientific discipline is at the stage of upsurge.
