Summary/Abstract: Exposing an exceptional closeness of God to human being, the mystery of incarnation is a fundamental truth of Christianity. This phenomenon is unknown to Islam, which puts strong emphasis on the transcendence of the Creator. Nevertheless, due to the acculturation in the 7th to 9th century, some thoughts on divine proximity permeated the utterances attributed to Muhammad.
