DOROHOIUL ANTEBELIC AL AVANGARDIȘTILOR
THE AVANT-GARDE WRITERS` DOROHOI DURING THE PRE-WAR PERIOD

Summary/Abstract: This research paper presents some aspects from the history of the pre-war Dorohoi City, based on a series of documents from that time and more. The starting point of the article is represented by concrete historical data and then by texts from the official newspapers of the local and regional press. The article is focused on recreating the atmosphere in which some well-known writers of the Romanian literary avant-garde were born: this is the case of authors like the novelist and publicist Ion Călugăru, the poet Moldov (a pen-name probably used for recalling the north-east area of Romania) and of course Sașa Pană, the great promoter of the avant-garde and founder of the literary magazine “Unu”.
