Summary/Abstract: Affectivity and emotions are inevitably present in our daily experiences of justice or injustice. However, an attentive and systematic consideration of affectivity and emotions in empirical research on social justice is rare, often avoided or ignored. The purpose of this article is to reignite the interest for restoring affectivity and discrete emotions as variables of the research designs on social justice. It is proposed that the analysis on the possible use of affectivity as an independent or dependent variable should be based on the simultaneous consideration of the three main aspects: the stage of evolution or the current state of social justice (experience of injustice vs restoring justice), the relevant type of justice concern (distributive, procedural, retributive, restorative), and the perspective a person has on injustice (perpetrator, victim, observer, beneficiary). It is our conviction that reflections and suggestions made within the present article are able to stimulate the research on social justice in this direction.
