Summary/Abstract: From the multitude of personalities who have distinguished themselves in the national history and remained in life like models over the years for constructive actions, a special place is held by Spiru Haret. The originality of his work and activity brought the material and spiritual affirmation of Romania under the national and European nineteenth century and early twentieth century, have their source in the patriotic devotion in founding a national school and wish lifting economic and cultural population. Founder of a social movement that bears his name (the haretism), Spiru Haret has dedicated his work to stimulate activity and individual action in social movements, under the historical and social conditions of his time. Citizen, in the view of Spiru Haret, was considered a „pivot” or „an agent of social life”, the beneficiary of improving the existence and social welfare. Based on these considerations, the present scientific approach seeks to illustrate the spirit of democracy, humanism, patriotism and nationalism of Spiru Haret proved, over the years and remained a living example, worthy to be followed by all Romanians.
