Employment gap of women and men over 50 in Poland

Summary/Abstract: The aging process of the population brings with it significant consequences for the labour market in the form of a deficit of labour resources and a change in their age structure. Increasing the use of the professional potential of people from older age groups of immobile age has become one of the priorities of active labor market policy in European countries. The purpose of this article is to determine the gender employment gap in the 50+ subpopulation in Poland and to identify the main sources of this phenomenon. The first part of the article contains a short description of the modern labor market, in the second part an analysis of the level of economic activity of people aged 50-64 was carried out. The article uses the analysis of existing data.
