Summary/Abstract: This material is an introduction to a broader discussion of photography. It starts from the aesthetic forms of photography, with reference to the texts that have become ”classic”, signed by Susan Sontag. An equally well-known opinion on photography belongs to the language philosopher Roland Barthes. The discussion is focused on what digital photography means in the context of modern spirituality and towards anthropological photography. Cultural anthropology uses photography to provide clear evidence to support its diverse theories, and photography uses cultural anthropology to find new subjects and new methods of interpretation.
