Summary/Abstract: During World War I it has been demonstrated that the Romanian Army needed more than ever to receive military priests. Initially received without much enthusiasm by the officers, they earned a well-deserved place among the regiments they belong to due to the great concern showed for soldiers, wounded or dying people or those who had already lost their lives. The religious military service was gradually institutionalized, playing an important role during World War I and II, and the military priest became a psychologist, being a mediator between soldiers and God.
