Summary/Abstract: This year we celebrate a hundred years since the savant Simion Mehedinţi (1868–1962) has became title member of Romanian Academy. His genius is that he succeded to inte grate in his thinking the global theoretical achievements and explain main issues presented by German and French schools of geography and basic problems of the field in the presented context. He sustained the geography is a science. He has created the Romanian geography and written syntheses in other fields as well as: ethnography, philosophy, history, lit erature, pedagogy etc.
