Summary/Abstract: The Teleki–Bolyai Library houses numerous documents that are concerned with death or funeral rites. Out of these 54 funeral hatchments stand out, documents that commemorate important members of the Transylvanian aristocracy who can be connected to Târgu-Mureș and its surroundings. The source insignia were analyzed according to the following aspects: chronology, size, support material, inscriptions, condition and previous restorations. Through archival sources an attempt was made to identify the previous owners, and the copies that are no longer in the collections of the library. The most important data about the deceased were gathered, emphasizing their possible connections to the Teleki family and library and also to the local Calvinist College.
