Summary/Abstract: This study deals with the issue of tourist industry on the territories reannexed from Czechoslovakia to Hungary under the First Vienna Award. The primary source of the paper is contemporary press, based on which the author explores the question of what prospects Hungarian tourist industry had seen on the reassigned territories, and what plans had been made to boost tourism in the affected area. The study focuses on the role of Kassa (Košice), outlining the potential Hungary saw in exploiting the mountains around the city for tourism and how they wanted to put its ,,kuruc” myth and ethnic minority past at the service of tourism.
