Acad. Solomon Marcus and Alumni 1978 – Informatics, Witnesses to Foundation of Romanian Informatics

Summary/Abstract: The article describes the steps that have favored the development of Informatics in Romania through initiatives and efforts of Professors Grigore C. Moisil and Marcus Solomon. The two professors worked in the Faculty of Mathematics, University of Bucharest. The article highlights the important moments on the appearance of Informatics specialization inside the Faculty of Mathematics and the role of two professors in the training of new generations of professionals. The article is a tribute of the 1978 graduates in Informatics to the memory of the Academician Solomon Marcus (1925–2016).
