2018-2020 Results of the ROINFO Project entitled “Romanian Informatics”

Summary/Abstract: The article describes the first results of the ROINFO Project 2018–2020. The ROINFO project “Romanian Informatics”aims to undertake research and elaborate studies to describe and to explain the “phenomenon” of the emergence, evolution, and development of Informatics in Romania. The volumes of the “History of Romanian Informatics – Appearance, Development and Impact”clearly describe the understanding of the evolution of informatics both at international level and in Romania, through our experiences and results in Computer Science/Informatics studies and research – volume I is dedicated to“The International Context of Computer Appearance and Evolution” (and covers issues such as the emergence and evolution of: computing systems, information society, programming languages, operating systems, databases, computer networks; Innovative ideas for the emergence of the Internet system), while volume II refers to “The National Context of the Founding and Evolution of Romanian Informatics” (with sections dedicated to Romanian personalities in the field: Ştefan Odobleja, C. C. Moisil, Grigore C. Moisil, Solomon Marcus, Victor Toma, Tiberiu Popoviciu, Dan D. Farcas etc.).
