Summary/Abstract: Born in Bucharest, on January 28, 1927, in a modest family of cultured people, he attends the St. Sava High School, then the Faculty of Medicine in Bucharest. In 1959, with a thesis of Medical Parasitology, on the topic of Phlebotomus species in Romania and their biology, he became a Doctor of Medical Sciences, then a primary physician. By winning a „Charles Nicolle” schol arship, he works at the Pasteur Institute in Tunis (1968–1970) with outstanding results. He has two important posts at the insti tute and the Faculty of Medicine in Oran, but from patriotism, he returns to the country with the desire to bring to Romania the experience he has gained. He will no longer receive any exit visa or promotion, despite the exceptional results of his work! In 1983 he settled in Canada. In Romania, then in Canada and in various warm countries (Tunisia, Morocco, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Haiti, etc), Dr. Dancescu continued his scientific research. His results are today valued by world health organizations and his methods, recognized and applied worldwide. He has written many books, courses, textbooks published in Romania, Switzerland, Canada, and over 150 articles in specialized magazines in France, Tunisia, Switzerland, England, Canada, Morocco and Romania. He has always had an intense activity on the socio-cultural realm. He establishes in Montreal the „Romanian Cultural Association”, with weekly activity, and keeps at the Romanian Radio Station in Romanian, hundreds of Romanian cultural conferences, publishes in the press numerous articles of Romanian history and culture. He brings to Montreal the exhibition „Monumenta Romaniae Vaticana” by Professor Ion Dumitriu-Snagov, an excep tional event celebrated by the entire Canadian press.
