Summary/Abstract: The article deals with the basic characteristics of the uchronia novel subgenre, its style, genre markers, and common plot characteristics. The metagenre of alternative history is presented here as the basic genre formation that derives its own subgenera with similar and different markers. The aim of the article is to determine the way in which the special genre complexes and stylistic markers that make up the uchronia as a subgenre of the alternative history meta-genre are identified and this finding signifies the novelty of the article. Research Methods. To analyze and divide the uchronia the method of description of the subgenre is used, for the classification of genre and stylistic elements of uchronia the comparative method and the analytical principle are used. Conclusions. It could be concluded that the AH genre formation itself has separated into individual sub-genres and varieties over time and has accepted different fable schemes from the other genres, particularly canonical ones, such as a historical novel, fiction novel, detective novel, uchronic. and fantasy. Alternative history has become emergency aid for the restoration of a much-needed myth in Europe. History and alternative histories try to overcome this sacralization and make each European component an alternative one. In American literature, alternative history plays the role of reconstruction and the making of future plans.
