STRATEGIJE I MJERE ZA SMANJENJE KONCENTRACIJE ZAGAĐIVAČA U ZRAKU (PREVASHODNO PM 2,5) U GRADSKIM PODRUČJIMA
STRATEGIES AND MEASURES THAT FACILITATE THE REDUCTION OF THE CONCENTRATION OF AIR POLLUTANTS (PRIMARILY PM 2.5) IN URBAN AREAS

Summary/Abstract: For any problem to be solved, it must first of all be detected, analyzed, and then addressed. Contemplating the overall situation in BiH in the post Aggression period, one gets the impression that a real perception of the general population of the severity of air pollution and it's inherent risks to human health is non existent, i.e. in 2019 and 2020, Sarajevo was and is unfortunately the most polluted capital city in the world in terms of the concentration of harmful pollutant particles in the air. The fact that almost no concrete measures with actual effect on the reduction, control and management of air pollutants were undertaken is further substantiated by full hospital beds of patients with problems of the respiratory system, that were and still are the most numerous patients in health institutions across BiH. The time to act in the manner previously (not)undertaken is behind us, or to be more precise our time is up. The results had to be evident already and the situation we are in simply must not have happened. Applicable economic models that as a result reduce and manage concentrations of air pollutants, primarily through the example of analyzing the actions of a serious, advanced country like Japan, are presented in this study. Also, innovative technologies and inventions that are used in the world today are presented, they give near instant results, ie their application effectively purifies the air we breathe. Also presented are concepts and technologies that have been implemented around the world that provide concrete and documented results and that are currently applicable in BiH.
