Summary/Abstract: This study has the purpose of presenting, in a concise manner, the valorisation of a monumental statue through restoration and preservation. The statue is a representation of the distinguished Emanuil Godju, lawyer/solicitor of great value, who by his actions succeeded to help his people when he was alive but also in his death. His statue, which was carved by sculptor Mircea Ştefănescu, is the object of a restoration project initiated two years ago and finalised in the fall of 2019, by putting back the sculptural composition. In the following pages, will be presented the restoration process of the petrographic cultural asset, to let the reading public know the importance of restoration, in terms of endurance for heritage works. Although in Romania, preservation and restoration is a field that is only now developing, especially in regards to the petrographic material (compared to other European countries), it has grown widely during the last 20 years.
