Summary/Abstract: The reseach regarding the Jewish political life în Greater Romania is still relatively uncovered, but, at the same time, particulary stringent. In this way, the informtion necessary for an objective understanding of the role played by the Jews both în the history of Romanian society as a whole and in the evolution of their own community can be brought to light. The years following the 1919 parliamentary elections was particulary important for the Jewish community. Thus, new Jewish political tendencies are now crystallizing, leading, în 1931, to tje birth of the Jewish Party of Romania. However, the great differences between the Jewish communities, put in the situation of living together after 1919, persisted throughout the interwar period. Only in the mid‑1930s, under the threat of the Nazi danger and the eakening of Romania democracy, the two blocs managed to get closer and laying the foundations of the Central Council of Romanian Jews.
