Summary/Abstract: The author has analysed the influence of French literature, and in particular of G. Apollinaire and A. Breton on the Czech literary avanguard of the interwar period. Inspirations which were the result of their work and theoretical suggestions had helped to a considerable extent in the development of the Czech poetic language, and they have determined the rise of two poetic trends: poetism and surrealism.
