THE THEATRICAL AVANTGUARD OF INTERWAR BOHEMIA

Summary/Abstract: The author presents the development of avantguard tendencies in the Bohemian theatre in the interwar period. The author gives the characteristics of achievements of J. Honzl, J. Frejka, E. F. Burian and first of all the programme and activities of Osvobozené divadlo – The Libera­ted Theatre of J. Voskove and J. Werich which was the most important centre of avantguard in the theatre.
