Summary/Abstract: Performing Arts Medicine is one of the subdivisions of occupational diseases. Performing Arts professionals and students are also open to occupational diseases like other professions. The reasons why they are open to injuries are; musicians and dancers repeat too much to learn; they sometimes ignore preventional behaviours and feel excessive stress due to performance. Piano students also get injured like any other instrument players. This article is about some supportive techniques which could be inserted into piano education. Besides physical awareness techniques like Alexander Technique and Feldenkrais Method, teaching some basics of Taubman technique would also help creating a more flowing piano technique and prevent playing related injuries.
