Summary/Abstract: Playing the piano, like many other instruments, requires a very repetitive learning process. The learning process may involve individual differences; technical problems that some can easily cope with will require longer hours and repetition for others. Long hours and repetitions are not a solution at some points and may also cause repetitive muscle injuries. For several decades, some techniques that both approach playing more systematically and care about the health of the performer have become widespread in the world. One of these techniques is the Taubman Piano Approach or Technique, which is frequently mentioned in the piano world. In this article, the Taubman approach, developed by American piano pedagogue Dorothy Taubman through many years of observation, analysis and practice, will be examined. The facilitating effect that the Taubman Technique can provide will also be mentioned.
