Summary/Abstract: The article examines the main learning activities of the teacher and students in the individual structural components of the lesson to check and assess the knowledge, skills and habits of math students. The concepts of verification and assessment are defined as structural components of the learning activity. The essence of the metrics on which the mathematical knowledge, skills and habits of the pupils in the first grades are evaluated is revealed. The peculiarities of this type of lesson require that activities are used that guarantee to the maximum extend both the successful absorption and the correct verification and evaluation of the mathematical competencies of pupils from the initial stage of primary education.
