The Interpretation of Ukrainian Classical Literature in the Context of Ritual-Mythological (Archetypal) Criticism: Selected Theoretical and Methodological Aspects

Summary/Abstract: Nowadays, ritual-mythological criticism is perceived as the traditional method of literary analysis. In terms of contemporary Ukrainian literary studies, its rich interpretation possibilities are used by Lukash Skupeyko, Yaroslav Polishchuk and others. The strategies of ritual-mythological interpretation allow us to examine the complex archetypical basis of the internal life of literary characters, including mask, shadow and animated paradigms.
