Summary/Abstract: The article is devoted to the archetypical analysis of the story I, Milena by modern Ukrainian writer Oksana Zabuzhko. Important motives of this text are interpreted in the context of analyticalpsychology by Carl Gustav Jung. There are archetypes of Person and Shadow, which are examined in more details. They play the great role in the process of the protagonist’s self-destruction.
