Summary/Abstract: The paper presents the significance and condition of road infrastructure in Nigeria. The sources of material were analyse of the literature on road infrastructure in Nigeria and the “CIA World Factbook” statistical data. The research period concerned the years 2014-2018. The descriptive, tabular, graphical methods and Pearson’s linear correlation coefficients were used to analyse and present the results of the work. It was found, that the importance of the Nigeria road network resulted from its strategic location on the African continent. A big problem was the lack of proper actions to maintain the quality of roads, which caused many accidents and limitations in the speed of vehicle movement. It was found, that in Nigeria the larger surface area of states corresponded to the greater length of roads, but their lower density. At the same time, the higher density of population in the states of Nigeria was associated with a smaller total length of roads, but with their higher density. There was no relation between the parameters of the economy in the states of Nigeria and the length and density of roads.
