Summary/Abstract: This article presents the preliminary results from the rescue excavations carried out in 2017 and 2018 in the area of the future location of the abbot house and the monks’ cells at ‘Coşoteni monastery'. Compared to previous research, from 1992, the 2017 and 2018 excavations brought few additional data. No clarifying elements concerning the problem of the existence of an enclosure and other typical buildings for a monastic ensemble have been identified. The few archaeological complexes seem to be related to the monastery. Even though richer and, at least for ceramics, better typologically represented, the archaeological finds do not attest an intensive habitation, and less a strong monastic life. The 55 tombs identified are added to the 32 known from the previous season, confirming the chronology from the second half of 16th century and extending it up to the third decade of the 20th century.
