Summary/Abstract: By using a descriptive method, this article describes in a full and systematic method, at a synchronic aspect, the grammatical characteristics of numerals in the work “Çeta e profetëve” (1685) by Pjetër Bogdani. By this method, this article attempts at providing a general picture of the use of numerals in the Albanian of the 17th century. The characteristics of general numerals and ordinal numerals are described in the grammatical and word-formation aspect, thus identifying their grammatical forms which are then investigated in light of statistical data in order to detect their progress, and at time to create a comparison to the preceding authors as well as today’s Albanian. The article also explores the qualities of numerals that function morphologically as nouns, and some specific cases in which numerals function as adverbs. Numerals in Bogdani’s Albanian appear as lexical-grammatical categories that are difficult to define, as they also do in contemporary Albanian, although some trace of their categories as inherited by IE language can also be noted in Bogdani, as is the case with the opposition in gender in length: m. dy – f. dȳ and with elements of declension: the ending -j in the forms njij / njaj in the indirect cases of the genitive-dative-ablative.
