Summary/Abstract: The subject of the article are names of cat breeds. The aim of the study was to answer the question: What structural types could be distinguished in the studied material? Breed names mentioned in the publication by Ursula Wink and Felix Ketsch entitled: Das praktische Katzenbuch were analysed. The studied material was divided into two basic groups: names without a comma and names including a coma. Each group consists of sub-groups of varied volume and rank. The following two structural types are particularly numerous: adjective + noun and a compound noun.
