Summary/Abstract: This paper examines the nature of language as a universal phenomenon, through the basic language preferences given in the poem BBBB published in Mak Dizdar‘s Stone Sleeper Collection. Reflec ionson language and words as presented in BBBB are compared to Rumi‘s philosophy of language,shown throught the different works of Jalalal-Din Rumi. We establish a comparative link between two similar language preferences through the description of natural language as a subject of linguistics, i.e. through general-linguistic analysis.
