Summary/Abstract: One of the main EU tools that promote human rights in third countries is the General System of Preferences (GSP). This system grants preferential access to the EU market for certain developing countries. There are explicit references to human rights in this program. These tariff preferences may be withdrawn in the event of systematic violations of fundamental human or labor rights. The purpose of the article is to show the significance of the provisions of the unilateral EU GSP Plus system of preferences for respecting human and labor rights in developing countries – beneficiaries of the system.
