Summary/Abstract: The article contains a pragmalinguistic analysis of seduction as a deliberate communicative activity. The analysed material comes from Internet guide for men, according to which there are several pragmatic conditions of effectiveness necessary to talk about seducing. Among them there are: the condition of context appropriateness, the adequacy of response to the situation, the credibility of the sender and the condition of frankness. Equally important is the conscious use of non-verbal communication, which consists in skilful use of facial expression and body movements. The process of seduction has been divided into two phases, and in both of them there are speech acts. The first phase contains an act of question, but the purpose is not to get the answer, the point is to establish contact. The second phase consists in complimenting, and the most important thing is to make it credible. That is why several communicative strategies are used, which enhance the credibility. Next, the sender applies an act of proposal, which enables him to control the interaction.
